Tunisha Brown
Founder/Editor-In-Chief, The IMPACT Magazine
As a single mother in Trenton NJ, Tunisha Brown saw the need for positive imagery in her community. Through this need began the journey of bringing forth her love of words in a powerful publication that displays the behind the scenes stories of Black people.
In 2007, IMPACT Magazine was born to empower, encourage, and educate its readers. As the founder and editor-in-chief, Tunisha believes magazines should get to the heart of a story; to understand and to communicate the root cause of a thing.
Under her leadership, the magazine has grown from 75 readers to thousands of readers daily.
Considering her love of attaining the heart of a story, she began her talk-show version of
Cocktails & Conversations in 2014. In 2017, she was presented the award of Magazine of the Year for IMPACT Magazine by AAMBC Literary Awards.
To take the brand to another level, Tunisha began IMPACTtv Network on Amazon with the television series, “The Moment of IMPACT,” which has now evolved into “In The Moment w/Tunisha.” Some of her guests were Garcelle Beauvais of the Real, actress/influencer Tabitha Brown, Grammy award-winning artists David Banner and Anthony Hamilton.
In 2021, Tunisha was named Citibank’s Women To Watch. In 2022, she was named one of Utah Business magazine’s 30 Women To Watch and created ‘IMPACT Black Women: Mind, Body, Soul Experience where black women came to be empowered, encouraged, and educated with guests David Banner and Tabitha Brown. This experience yielded a partnership with Comcast/NBC Universal and Goldman Sachs.
Tunisha’s passion is to awaken black men and women to an understanding of the power they have within. To use their strengths to take charge of their lives and the communities that surround them. “To be a black woman who provides positive media to my community is a true blessing. My purpose is fulfilled when I see how my readers respond to the stories presented on a daily basis.”
