From Startup to Scaleup

Too often, business owners and founders want to keep controlling all aspects of the business even after bringing on partners who are there to help. Trusting your partners and leaning into their ideas can give the business fresh ideas and power that is needed for the brand to scale.

Holding too tightly to your piece of the pie can also halt growth. Sometimes in order to scale, you need to bring on partners; that requires giving them shares in your business. You have to be willing to give away some of your business—your piece of the pie. In the end, your piece will be a smaller percentage of a much larger total because of the value the partners have added in scaling the business.

The leaders in your business are your most important piece. Fostering leadership and giving opportunities for growth creates an amazing culture that people want to be a part of. You scale quicker and better when you let your team lead out knowing that you trust them to do so.
