Miles Hansen

Miles is the president and a board director of The Stirling Foundation, a Utah-based global humanitarian organization with projects in 35+ countries around the world. Miles also serves as the elected chair of the Utah Inland Port Authority’s board of directors.

Prior to joining The Stirling Foundation, Miles served as the president & CEO of World Trade Center Utah, an organization that accelerates global growth for Utah
businesses. During his tenure at WTC Utah, Miles also served as a commissioner on the state of Utah’s Unified Economic Opportunity Commission. Miles is a member of USTR’s Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee, a director on the board of the National Association of District Export Councils and serves on many other public and private boards. In 2022, Miles was honored by Utah Business as CEO of the Year.

Earlier in his career, Miles was the director of Gulf Affairs for the National Security Council at the White House and was a U.S. diplomat working on energy, security, and business issues throughout the Middle East and Eurasia. He graduated with honors from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and with distinction from Brigham Young University. Miles is a speaker of Russian, Persian, and Arabic (albeit rusty with all three); a frequent author and commentator on foreign affairs and international business; a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations; and is the assistant to the assistant coach for his son’s little league football team. Miles and his wife, Siena, are the proud parents of 5 children.
